Dog-friendly Ghost Tours
The only thing better than a ghost tour is a dog-friendly one! Search for paranormal activity with a professional at these famously haunted sites.

1. Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia
Harper’s Ferry is home to one of the many battles during the Civil War. Enjoy the National Historical Park by day and hear several haunting ghost stories at night. Dogs are allowed on the Ghost Tours of Harper’s Ferry. Beware that some of the town’s steep inclines on this walking tour may be just as scary as the ghosts!

2. Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Gettysburg is the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War and home to countless spirits. Book one of the dog-friendly tours with Civil War Ghosts (this is an affiliate link, and we may receive a commission for purchases) for a fun evening of ghost adventures with your furry paranormal partner.

3. Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia
Nighttime tours are off limits to your pup, but you can bring your dog on any of the daytime tours of this haunted hospital. Don’t worry, this includes a paranormal tour option. See if any of the ghosts are up to playing with your dog!

4. Hot Springs, Arkansas
Hot Springs is one of the most dog-friendly cities we’ve been to. One of the many activities you can do with your pup here is the Hot Springs Haunted Tour. No reservations are needed, which makes it super easy to fit into your vacation schedule.

Dog-friendly Haunted Parks
Not every haunted location will have a guided tour or a paranormal investigator helping you and your pup track down ghosts. In fact, you might even have ghostly encounters at your local park! Here are a couple of parks where people have reported ghost sightings.
1. Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park, WV
Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park doesn’t have a haunted tour, but they do have ghosts! Take your four-legged friend on an evening or early morning hike on the park’s walking trails and keep your eyes and ears open for Confederate soldiers that are still haunting the battlefield.

2. Dinosaur Park, South Dakota
Go for dinosaurs, stay for the ghosts. Dinosaur Park used to be known as Hangman’s Hill. Three men were hanged; one was innocent. People have reported the sounds of hoofbeats and seeing the figure of a cowboy.

Haunts for Hounds
When things go bump in the night, don’t you want your dog by your side? Get ready to find out if your pup will constantly alert to unseen presences (like my husky Emma) or sleep through every creepy tale (like my chihuahua, Charlie).
These dog-friendly haunted places will give you the perfect mix of eerie encounters and tail-wagging adventures for your own mini Scooby Gang. You may go home with a great ghost story with a side of paw prints. Just don’t make your pup say “Ruh-roh” because you forgot their Scooby Snacks!
Please leave a comment if you know of a dog-friendly haunted place that we can add to the list! And don’t forget to check back later, as we add to this list as we find more places on our travels.
